Surfers Behind Breaking Waves at Sunset Beach
This photo taken by Alex MacLean in Oahu Hawaii really captured my attention. This picture was taken from an aerial point of view. This photo is asymmetrical since the wave is not consistent across the image. The rule of thirds is considered in this image since the wave is in the bottom third of the photo. There isn't a clear focal point, since both the wave and the surfers capture the attention of the viewer. This photograph is horizontal and it is effective in this position since the wave has a more powerful effect this way. The white water created by the wave leads your eye from there through the picture allowing you to see all the surfers. The mood that this photograph gives off is a sense of amusement and lightheartedness.
