Studio Portraits
ReflectionThe picture of Dakota laughing has light coming from the bottom left of the picture. This creates shadow on the right side of his face from the viewers point of view. Dakota is sitting in front of the white backdrop in this image. He is laughing in this image and not looking at the camera. The photo was taken vertically and straight-on. This image's lighting creates a more peculiar mood however his expression makes it cheerful.
Compare and contrastThe picture of Julia, smiling with the book and the picture of her looking off into the distance below it are both taken of the same person. Julia was in the same setting in both of these pictures. However in one she is smiling and has a prop while in the other she has a mysterious look about her. The lighting is also different in these two pictures. In the book picture there was studio lights with reflecting umbrellas coming from all angles to her. The other picture has a single studio light without the umbrellas coming at her face from her left. Th book picture is more light and joyful feeling. The other one has a more curious and ominous mood to it.
